TaikoArts Midwest Launch

This month is the launch of TaikoArts Midwest, a new organization focused on celebrating and recognizing the full diversity and depth of taiko arts and built on the belief that taiko has the power to make the world a better place. TaikoArts Midwest will be celebrating this new era of taiko at their Taiko Jam at the end of this month. Founded by Jennifer Weir, TaikoArts Midwest is an independent spin-off from Mu Performing Arts and retains the same leadership, artists, music, studio, and instruments as existed with Mu Daiko. Asian Pacific Heritage Day with the Minnesota Historical Society Celebrate friendship, diversity and unity with artists from the Twin Cities Asian Pacific communities as they highlight traditions that help us connect with one another and with other communities. Make a dragon puppet, a rakhi friendship bracelet, and learn what it takes to be a Chinese lion dancer in a special workshop and parade.
